Have you ever heard a voice?

This is a serious question, I'm not talking about a voice inside your head... I'm talking about a voice OUTSIDE your head.

The other day when I was at work, I went into the storage closet to get something. I entered the closet and right after the door shut behind me I heard a whisper to the left of me. But to my left there was a wall and there was no one in the room but me. The whisper was short and it was clearly there, but I didn't understand what it said. I wasn't scared or frightened either. This doesn't happen to me often, but it has happened before, maybe once or twice that I can remember.

Does this ever happen to anyone else? Do you think it's just our minds playing tricks on us, like how sometimes we see things that aren't there?

Update:

Thanks to everyone who took me seriously. Here's a little more:

There IS a vent in the room, but it was to the right of me, the voice I heard was to my immediate left, almost IN my ear.

The fact that it could have been something paranormal didn't really cross my mind, thank you for bringing that to my attention.

And no, I don't think I'm crazy or schitzophrenic, otherwise I think this would be happening to me more frequently. And I certainly don't think I need to see my doctor about it as it happened once. I didn't hear Satan's voice telling me to kill or anything nutty like that, it was just a benign whisper that I may or may not have actually heard.

Were you in a state of meditation, or engrossed in what you were doing? When the mind has a clear space, you allow yourself access to the astral plane. These voices and sights really are there, most of us are not open to them. It's great that you are not afraid, I never have been either. Trance meditation will open up worlds of exciting things. Dont forget to breathe! (:

You are not alone! Just last night I was lying in bed after having an argument with my boyfriend who was lying next to me. We were both angry at each other and not talking at all and that's when I heard a distinct inaudible whisper. It's not the first time, it has happened before many times as well. You're not crazy it's just that there's more to life than what we see. That is what I believe! Think of it this way, loved ones that have passed on are trying to communicate, if you think that you won't be too afraid.

Happened to me when I was in boarding school. I'm usually the first to wake up in my dorm because I was the head, but that day I was feeling lazy, so I just lay on my bed after switching off the alarm. My eyes were open, it was dark, and suddenly I heard a voice clearly saying (almost whispering) : "Hannah, get up!" Surprised? Of course. At first I thought my friend had got up (because it sounded a bit like her), but everyone were still in their beds, and the voice came from the side of my bed... So I got up, switched on the lights, and do the things I usually do :)

Paranormal? Maybe. Psychological? Possible. So yeah.

Yes, that did happen to me one time...I was upstairs with my head in a closet, (cleaning it,) when from downstairs I heard ,clear as a bell ,my husband saying "hello". There was nothing unusual about it... it was a sound I had heard a billion times... but when I went down to greet him, he wasn't there... I have heard that sometimes when the brain gets incomplete signals, it will fill in the gaps with something familiar... so, it's possible that my ears heard a combination of sounds that registered as a human voice, the lenght of the sound, and the

tone, matched the very familiar "hello" of my husband, and so my brain subsituted the incomplete data for something that made sense...

Of course, this could all be bulls$%&, and incorrect... but, that's

how I got to sleep that night

I can only remember one time when that happened to me... I was very ill from a flu, and lying in bed.. when I heard a voice in my left ear... just like you, i couldnt understand what it said, but i definetly heard it, and i wasnt scared...

i just remembered another time.. i was alone, at my friend's house waiting for her to come back there, and i heard what i thought was her voice... i was SO SURE that she was coming up to the door, but nobody was there.. however its possible that i could hear neighbours talking or something..

im not sure if its our minds or not... i definetly believe that there exist things beyond this physical world, and i definetly believe that our minds are very powerful and open to suggestion...

i have noticed before that if i hear a noise, and i cant identify it right away, my mind interprets it for me.. usually as a person... things like tires screeching, a puppy making noises...

Sorry, can't help you there... never experienced that before. Is there a vent in the closet?? Some buildings have connecting vents (from room to room) and it's possible for a voice/sound to travel through those vents.

I dont think your mind is playing tricks because it has happened to me before. Like you said nothing scary or anything but still there. I believe in the supernatural to an extent, and I believe "they" may have something to do with this. What about you?

Possibly. Or you might have been near an air duct or hollow part of the wall that transmits sound from another room. That has happened to me before.

Just bear in mind that in analyzing the brainwaves of schizophrenics, their brains show the same reaction as though there really were someone standing next to them, whispering or yelling in their ears.

    Ghost Busters!!!!

But seriously I do believe in the paranormal as far as people who need to pass on completely, and those who are evil and won't.
