On a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer... Somewhere lower dash area makes a sloshing noise sometimes.?

locate the ac drain out in the engine compartment fire wall right side black rubber and wet and give it a squeeze. Most likely debris is keeping the evaporator case from draining A/C condensation out. Gently blow air up that hose and wait for two gallons of water to come out

Mr. Ticked Off is correct, it's an ac drainage problem. The air conditioner "conditions" air by both cooling it AND removing moisture from the air. That moisture drops into a pan and drains out the car. If the drain is clogged a little, then you can hear the water sloshing around in the drain pan. Usually you can get remove the glove box door and get to it (usually, not always, I don't know every car model). You will see something that looks like a mini car radiator (the evaporator), and a black plastic tray underneath it (the condensate tray). with a rubber hose attached (that leads to the engine compartment which is most likely the problem).

is it a sloshing or like a fluttering sound? i had a 96 blazer that would from time to time make a sloshing/ fluttering noise from the dash area. turns out it was one of the hvac doors becomming stuck between modes causing this unnerving noise. i probably could have fixed it eventually, but i traded it off b4 i had the chance. it's worth a shot.

I am a ten year vet of Chevrolet dealerships. The problem you have is common with that model blazer. You need to check the condition of the coolant in the radiator. Remove the radiator cap and look for heavy deposits, thats wat is in your heater core. Flush the system with Prestone Heavy Duty Fush, its the only one that will work. After you get the system flushed you need to find the leak that caused it, probably the intake manifild gasket.

To do this right you might want to go to your local dealer.

You have to much air in the cooling system. The noise is coming from water rushing through the heater core. A mechanic can purge the system to correct the problem. It is Ok to drive this way.

Well Hell if you want the correct answer here it is! If your ac drain tube is clogged then your carpet will be wet on the passenger side floor board. If it's not wet then your ac is low on refrigerant. I've seen this happen many times most people think that they have a leaking heater core or plugged ac drain tube. Like I said if there is no moister on the passenger's floor board then you ac is low on R134a. Get it charged and I guarantee that's the problem!

Fluttering clicking in many cases ability a susceptible battery, or undesirable connection on battery. sense it cranked first and drove to artwork and then does no longer crank, i'd say examine alternator. looks like alternator became into no longer working on your thank you to artwork. while the alternator does not cost, the radio, lighting fixtures fixtures, heater motor issues like that would desire to artwork off of the battery. Could be the water in the heater core...if the heater's off, there is no circulation....so whatevers in there..will just slosh around....

It may also be a early sign of the heater core leaking. Or your getting rain water trapped in there somehow.

sounds like air in your heater core make sure your radiator is full of coolant that should chase the air out of your colling system.
