A rescue team gets dropped into the middle of a rainforest. Thier mission is to find a missing scientist. They find a piece of paper which has the numbers '2,2,6' at the top of the page, and the answer '=8740' at the bottom of the page. What was the question the scientist was trying to figure out based on the first three numbers and how did the scientist arrive at answer 8740?

Sorry...no correct answers....here it is for the curious....I'm voting for the most brilliant answer even though it's the wrong answer.
If he were to hunt twice (2) a day, gather two (2) meals each time he went hunting, for six (6) years (estimated time to get out of the rainforest) and one of those six years would have to be a leap year...he will have gathered 8740 meals.

2,2,6 will go into 209760 with the following results. 209760 divided by 2 is 104880 divided by 2 is 52440 divided by 6 =8740
That was the whole piece of paper !!

Ok, at the top we have 227 and at the bottom we have =8740. In the middle should have been +8513 but it was erased by the conditions in the forest.
Probably not right but it is all I can come up with.

What does the little ' in front of the first 2 and after the 6 mean? YOu also have the same ' before the = and after the 0.
Do they have ameaning or are they just there? I can type a formula without using them, so I believe they mean something. It has been too long since school.

well this is none of our business to see what scientist was trying to figure out....it was his's business....so let him think abt it....
n abt how wud they solve this mystery, lemme tell u tht first they will complete their mission by finding the missing scientist n then they will ask the scientist abt the problem....simple!!!
