Next door neighbor has vines growing into/on my property.?

I would like the neighbor to remove since it's coming from her vine plant on other side of the fence. It's growing out of control and is climbing on my roof. I've been out of town for two months and just now found this surprise plant coming on my side... Is it her responsibility to remove from my property? If yes and she doesn't remove, can I bill her for having removed?

Have you tried talking to her? Maybe you could work something out where you share the cost. You can legally cut off any part of the plant that is on your property, but perhaps the vine is a problem for her as well. Try being neighborly and trying to find a solution that keeps everyone happy.

I am not a lawyer but I have a brother who is and he says that the law reads that you have the right to trim or remove any plant growth that is on your property regardless of where that plant growth has its root system. However, if it is on your property, your neighbor has no responsibility to remove it, even if it is their vine or whatever, i.e. your property is your responsibility and no one else's. Where I live in the South sometimes we have quite a problem with kudzu vines and if they are on your property by all means cut them back!

Not her responsibility. Be a mensch, cut back the vine up to the property line, and bundle the cut vines up and bring them to the curb. Don't be a crappy, nasty neighbor.

I lived next door to some prick that cut back a tree I have and threw the cut branches over the fence. His wife got stuck in her car, I could have driven by, but I stopped to drive her and her kids home. Would he have done the same for my family? I don't know but I doubt it. He's a dumb prick.

    Be a good neighbor.

Trim the vine and then take your neighbor some cookies for watching your property for two months and not letting the crooks steal everything you have.

    Smile and be happy.

It seems to me that she should be responsible for the removal. Personally I would go to where it is growing over the fence line and cut it with pruning shears.

Ask her politely to remove the vines from your house. If she doesn't, you can remove them yourself.

u should let her know the problem and get a solution together, or since they are in your side of fence, u can cut them off.

you can cut anything thats hanging over or on to your property, you don't need their permission..Depending on where you are the laws might be different, here in the UK you can even throw the clippings back over.

If you spray it with some all kill, it will kill the entire vine.

Why don't you just cut them back yourself.
