not true, please do not believe all of the old wives tales about pregancy. get the book, what to expect when you are expecting and it will answer just about any question you have about your pregnancy! just eat HEALTHY and get plenty of rest and visit your doctor regularly and dont feel stupid asking your doc questions, thats what they are there for!

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! I have never heard of that one but most of those things are old wives tales and you shouldn't listen to them. If anything that could cause you to become severely obese and can lead to you having gestational diabetes. That is bad. VERY VERY BAD. Think about it when your child is diagnosed with diabetes at age 14 months you will look at him or her and say "It's all my fault because someone told me that I could prevent myself from having a hyper active child" Won't that be a hard conversation to have with yourself. The best thing that you could do is eat healthy, get regular check-ups with your doctor, and pray for the healthiest child that you could possibly have. Good Luck & Congratulations!!!

Eating too much of anything in particular will cause problems in your child, and will cause problems for you as well.
Overdoses of sugar will cause both you and your child to become diabetic.
Read up on different things to eat, and make sure you take in what you need to. Talk with your doctor, or better yet, talk with a nutritionist. Most of what a baby needs comes with those oh so important prenatal vits. There are certain things to avoid, etc.
Large amounts of nearly anything can be more harmfull instead of helpfull.
What you take into your body passes to the baby. When you take in large amounts of certain foods, your body detecs that shift, and instead of storing needed things, your body expelles them, and you create a deficiency in your system. It really is all about balance. And when you are prego, you need a little extra of only certain things. Folic acid is a good one. Even vitamin C is something to be carefull of. Calcium is a wonderfull thing. Potassium, Magnesium - both help your body in adjusting to pregnancy.
Talk with a nutritionist before you do anything. If you happen to get involved in WIC, they have someone there to discuss things with you. Another thing that gets checked frequently is your iron levels. Very important.
Be carefull, but use common sense in what you do.
Best wishes to you and baby.

eating a lot of sugar will NOT guard against a hyper active child. It will, however, promote diabetes.

First time I've heard that. If anything I would think the other way, I ate way too much chocolate and junk when i was pregnant...and my son, now two years old, is bouncing off the walls all day long.
He's super active, so I would think your theory is wrong..

This is a myth that I can;t fathom where it cam from. All sugar helps you do gain unnecessary weight and put you at risk for diabetes

NOPE!! please don't listen to old wives' tales such as that. Eating a lot of sugar would be more likely to cause the baby to gain unnecessary weight or push you towards gestational diabetes than to help with hyperactivity in your child. Consult your physician, please.

Only thing that will do is make your blood sugar high and can lead to diabetes.

I've never heard this, but I can't believe it to be true. Sugar isn't good for you or your baby. Why don't you try to watch his diet after he's born?

that is just crazy. nothing you eat will determine your babys personality. Make sure you eat a balanced diet, and get enough rest. Too much sugar is not good for you.
