Martial Arts for 48 Year old with Gimp Leg?
A similar question was asked earlier - except I am 48 with a gimp knee. Are there any martial arts I can learn that can work around this problem?
I can walk, maybe walk at a fast pace but not run - so needless to say I wont be doing any splits or round-house kicks. Its more for health than self defense, even so defense is always a handy tool to have.

TaiChi may be a better choice. It's about control and flexibility, and is especially good for the over-40 crowd.

Boxing, you dont have to run, you just move around. I dont know how bad your leg is, most martial arts involce legs a lot, the only one I can think of that doesnt as much, but does in a way, is Boxing.

Do it. I'm 32 and my shoulder is shot, but I have been enjoying it for 6 months now.
It is more the mental aspect than the physical that I enjoy.
Consider it a workout for your consentration. The physical rewards will come, albeit slowly.
Also, you need not focus on the sparring (aspect, but the forms and techniques.
It will do you well. Good Luck
