What image comes to mind when you hear or read the words Latin American?

Do you see physical characteristics or something else? Do you see abusers of the United States' welfare system or do you see people who work hard to make good lives for themselves and their families? Just honestly say whatever the image is when you hear or read the words Latin American.

I wonder why they get paid more to be bilingual. I wonder why they do less and make more money. I wonder why they get all the benifits without paying any taxes by working under the table. I wonder why we have to push 1 for english.

Tall, dark, handsome man with mysterious eyes and a mischievous smile. That's the first thing that pops into my head. I think of a strong man with gentle hands.

Don't necessarily think of welfare abusers...those come in all races and ethnicities; so do hard-working people. I get mad at people who come to the US to abuse the system, regardless of where they come from, what language they speak, or what color they are. If someone wants to come here to provide a better life for their family and they are willing to go through the proper channels and work hard, then they should come here and have the life they deserve.

Latin American......Tall,dark,and handsome. GOOD LOOKING! Riding in a sports car. But when I really start thinking about what T.V. image is.....Gangs, Thieves, load music, and tons of kids. It's like I'm really not sure. The few that I have meet, they seem a nice group of people.

First, what a NICE screen name you picked!! Great choice.

Okay, what I think FIRST is Eric Estrada...

On the political side, I feel a deep anger that people would come to my country by sneaking in, make a better living in this country than in their own, and have the bad manners to feel that they have a RIGHT to the benefits that citizens of this country pay for...and we pay for them dearly. We do without in order to put those programs in place. We don't have enough to go around as it is, and then someone who has never even tried to contribute wants it for themselves. Right at this moment, I have two daughters in school. I cannot afford any health insurance for any of us. All I can do is pray that none of us get sick, but people come here and want me to pay for their doctor bills, pay for their chilldren to be born, pay for their housing, pay for their food, pay for their children's education, pay for their language to be posted everywhere and think it is their right to do so. It is NOT their right. Somewhere in there, MY rights have been trampled by those very people. I am not happy about it at all.

I think of people who work damn hard to provide for their families. They are in search of the American dream like so many others and simply want a chance to provide for their people.

I wonder why the hell the word "latin" is even used.Latins used to live in what is now Italy, not Mexico-not even Spain.

I also think we need to ship a lot of free-loaders back across the border.
