Fake or real?

Some of these pool (the game) shots are unbelievable. Do you think the table is tilted or some editing is being done? Not that these shots can't be made with practice but they are totally mind-blowing.

They all look like shots I have seen in trick shot competitions

Didn't look at the video, but I called an 8-bank shot when I was a kid, and I made it to win the game.

Went back and watched the video. Dang!

One minute, you're a big fish in a small pond; the next, somebody opens a floodgate and you're swimmin' in the ocean! That's when you come to appreciate that a big minnow is just a satisfying snack for the *really* big fish!

I've seen some of those tricks done by a guy that graduated with me from high school: he was doing most of that stuff by our first year in college. I asked him to teach me how to play pool; after a few games, I sort of had the basics figured out.

I later learned he was a shark, so I didn't hang out with him. I just wanted to have fun.

These are all real shots. You can be sure that they weren't all made on the first try though. That's the difference between professional trick shot artists like Mike Massey, Andy Segal, Stefano Pelinga, et. al, and all the other folks with a pool table in their basement and a video editing machine. These are tricks that have been around for years. They are real; the secret is that the players performing these shots practice them as much as Reyes practices 9-ball.
