Cats are nocturnal by nature. As he grows up he will conform to your schedule a little more, but cats will always be active at night, especially dusk and dawn- prime hunting hours- even if they are always inside, the instinct is still there so it will show itself in bursts of energy.

I know its weird! Mine do the same thing. They say they are nocturnal....plus they can see in the dark so I guess it makes sense. Mine sleep all day while I am at work so thats a good reason to be up all nite!!!

Awww .. aren't you a lucky mommy!?!? hee hee .. get used to it, cats are nocturnal and loooove to prowl about at night.
You could try to tire them out before bed, with a good play session, teach them to fetch a mousie toy or pompom.
Good Luck to you .. enjoy and take lots of pix while they are little.

They are using up their surplus energy. It's a sign that they are healthy. They will quieten down eventually; in the meantime just remove any breakables & join in the fun!
