Is the coup that happened in Thailand today going to change anyones travel plans?

Are you still going to go to Thailand or will you go somewhere else?

    Not sure,

I planned to go to HK in February but then to Thailand with my wife, the coup seems bloodless and the general has promised to return democratic power but I am uneasy, I will wait and see, but in the current state I won't go.

Perhaps we will go to Taiwan, that is not so interesting, perhaps it is safer unless China invades.

I certainly hope not. As a resident of Thailand, I can assure you that the bloodless coup last night has and will not interfer with their vacation plans. Although the political processes will take longer to work out, it was basically just a one evening news event that tourists either partied through or read in the morning newspaper. The ultimate benefit to Thailand of these events will be positive.

I would not go at the minute but I don't see that this is such a bad thing. There has not been any conflict as yet. Seems as long is it is supported by the king and the army is in check there will be no problems with the public.
