I heard a rumour about a new animated Xmen series?
Does anyone else know of any details like who the cast will be or when it will come on. Are there any sites with information?
Like the ANIMATED cartoon series.

Mien god, there are so many rumours it's hard to keep up.
Okay so the knew series is nothing to do with X-men evolution (thank god) sure the cartoon series was OK, but there's only so far you can go with most of the main characters being teenagers.
The new series is meant to be more like the brilliant older series,(that's still on Jet-ix) but with an up dated look, hopefully not like the new spider man, which is cack. There is a rumour there taking it right back to the start and having the original X-crew (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel and the Cool Iceman)
then half way through when the team is set up it'll try and follow the path of the comic books and get international members: Wolverine, Storm, Colossus (and not the stupid version from Evolution either) and Night crawler. There's even supposed to be the first fight between The incredible Hulk and everyone favourite Wolverine. Stories in tow involve Phoenix saga, Hell fire Club, The Acolyte regime and the Age of Apocalypse Until I know more, that's all there is for know.

Sadly, there is no official news of a new X Men cartoon, but...
With the success of both their Ultimate Avengers movies, and the recent new Fantastic Four animated series, I can't see Marvel going too long without a new version being made.

It's coming soon, tenatively called Wolverine and the X-Men. There's no firm release date as I heard last.
It's going to be centered on Wolverine (obviously) and very similar to the X-Men Evolution series (I even heard one report say that it would be a continuation). I believe they're shooting for fall '07 to release.
Try some comic book news websites like Comic Book Resources or Newsarama. Comic Book Resources would be a good bet as they have a daily movie/TV news column.

Hadn't heard but if it's true then yay. I love X men. Sorry haven't been very helpful. I don't think so there's nothing I can see on the Internet. The site below is an X men fan site and they'd probably mention it if it was confirmed and I can't see it there.

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
The X-Men, mutant heroes sworn to defend a world that hates and fears them, are back! This time, with the help of new recruits The Beast and Angel, they must face evolution itself in the form of their former teammate, Jean Grey. Possessed with the cosmic power of the Dark Phoenix, the resurrected Jean Grey has become a danger to herself, her mutant comrades, and the entire planet. To stave off this imminent threat to humanity, a potential cure is discovered and processed to treat -- and ultimately eliminate -- genetic mutations, once and for all. Now, as the battle lines are drawn, the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, must contend with both Jean Grey's world-consuming powers, as well as the malevolent Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto.

In X-Men: The Last Stand, the final chapter in the X-Men motion picture trilogy, a "cure" for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, though it isolates and alienates them, or give up their powers and become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier (Stewart), who preaches tolerance, and Magneto (McKellen), who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test -- triggering the war to end all wars.
Mutants are on the verge of X-tinction, it seems, when US business Worthington Industries discovers a cure for mutation. This scientific breakthrough complicates and intensifies the battle - both physical and ideological - between Professor X's (Stewart) integration-friendly X-Men and the human-hating muties let by Magneto (McKellen)...
Summary written by comicfan
When a private laboratory supported by the government finds the cure for the mutants, using the DNA of a powerful boy, the mutants have the option of giving up their powers and become human, but their society split. Magneto (Ian McKellen) opposes and decides to join a force to fight against the government and kill the mutant boy. Meanwhile, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) resurrects uncontrolled by Xavier and with the personality of the powerful Dark Phoenix. She destroys Cyclops (James Marden) and Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and allies to the evil forces of Magneto, making them almost invincible.
