can opticians tell if you haven,t been wearing your glasses enough?

an optician is the person who makes the glasses so you must be talking about an optometrist most children don't like to wear their glasses depending on your daughters age she might think its not cool to wear glasses besides glasses make marks on your face you would have indents in your nose where the nose pads would be and on your temples where the temples of the glasses are on the side of you face there are many determining factors but that would be the one the doctor may have looked at first

Rightly or wrongly there's no way that wearing specs or not can be spotted by an optician 'per se' - BUT by NOT wearing certain types of specs, it can allow a problem to get worse than it would have done had they been worn, so therefore it's as much an intelligent guess on the part of the optician as anything, BUT (again!) don't forget that the regular use of specs usually leaves a mark on the bridge of the nose or over the top of the ears, and the absence of these can be a bit of a give-away !!!

That is very odd that the optician would be able to tell. I have been wearing glasses since I was in the 5th grade. At first it was as reading glasses, but halfway through the year I needed to wear them all the time. I wear my glasses all the time and my eyesight is still getting bad.

She may have been able to tell if her eyesight has gotten dramatically worse over the course of a year. Also, the curve of her retna may have changed enough for her to tell.

Why would she worry what the optician thought, by not wearing her glasses she is just hurting herself, she has them for a reason

use your sence glasses are to help your eyes you wear glasses to help so when she looked at your daughters eyes there was no inprovement due to the fact she did not wear glasses so if she did not wear her glasses her eyes just get worse by time she is a adult she will have to wear glasses all the time. so think about it.

because the eyes haven't made any progress if they were the same/ worse then the last time they looked it means she hasn't been wearing her glasses enough!

No of course not my son never use to wear his glasses and still doesn't.

She didn't have 'dents' in the top of her nose and lines running from her eyes to her ears!

because she's an optician and thats what she's paid for
