so america why does our GOVERMENT KNOW more personal information about its free people-?

The US Government has more computers and many people give out their social security numbers and ....

More data collected from disparate sources e.g financial institutions, tax office, relief and welfare agencies. The necessary technology infrastructure to collate the data into information, knowledge. However there is no guarantee that this will be used wisely. The thing going for it is the US government's inbuilt governance that will provide the checks and counterbalances e.g. free press, independent judiciary etc. I have faith for those who have nothing to fear i.e the good and innocent. Only those will bad intentions have something to fear. There is so much at data level that people just do not have the time to go after the innocent.

Because our government has buracracies and we are citzens of this country. they asign us SSN# and personal Id. we pay our taxes by how much money we make. If we mess up in life our government know because we go to court. The Government just knows these things. It's not like they are spying us and have databases full of "dirt" on us. unless of course you have commited a crime.

Because you are willing to tell all to creditors, schools, anywhere personal information is asked for, most Americans oblige in telling.

because we are becoming a police state and we are handing our liberties over like they're candy. Our government spies on us and we just sit idly by, shrug our shoulders and say, "hey, if they do that, it must be legal/must be for our own good" - what a crock of horsemanure.

Because the goverment seems to enjoy being really freakin creepy.
