Do Chick Tracts actually help convert people?

Wow! They still spread this ancient dreck about? I recall seeing that crap back in the 80's in the EXACT SAME FORMAT! You'd think they'd update their crap.

Yeah. I'm an old fart. Whatever. I also DM'd D&D games and thought these goofy comics were hilarious because - at the time - I was a Christian and those goofy stories were pretty far from what I was experiencing.

On the other hand, I have seen the sort of Jim Jones cult-leader sort of DM since then. They make for a pretty boring and sad DM. Stupid narcissistic gits.

So I suspect that anyone gullible and boring enough to play D&D with a self-indulgent jerk might actually buy into these little comics. Hopefully they would be few and far between because that would mean there would be far more egomaniac psycho-DMs out there than what I've met.

Then again, I've generally felt that people are stupid, so why not?

Chick Tracts D&d

Those tracts I really can't say much about, but I did look at them, and as a christian, they are kinda sending an odd message, instead of actually showing facts about the issues, it seems to just state opinions, and poor ones at that. There is a gospel message in there, hard to find it at first, but I did find it. The problem is, no one would willingly read through the tract far enough to get to the gospel message thanks the the seemingly misinformed hatefilled text before it. In my opinion, this is definatly a bad tract, and I haven't even talked about whats at the end of it.

Before you posted about this, I hadn't heard of them. But, I can see that they are serving their purpose via a kind of reverse psychology. When you think about it, these simple tracts are now on the Internet and is reaching a lot of people thanks to you. The people who put this out count that as success. No doubt there'll be one person who will see these tracts as inspirational. After all, people still buy into things like sending away on how to start a home-based business stuffing envelopes and that scam has been around for years.

Sometimes I see this stuff and don't know which is more shocking the fact the someone wrote this crap or the fact that they may actually believe it. I don't think they are really meant to convert anyone. Just away to reassure other Christians that it's OK for them to look down on others' beliefs. I found the one on homosexuality particularly insulting.

I've seen some of these before, but never in a urinal. It always disappoints me to find that people are so foolish and shallow that they believe these things.

It's bad enough that people agree with Jack Chick, but the worst part is that these are cartoons designed to brainwash children and they do work. People should be presented with the evidence and encouraged to think for themselves instead of threatened with the idea that if you don't accept Jesus as your savior you are going to burn eternally in hell.

That would be odd...reading the tract while you're on the toilet and all of a sudden you decide THIS IS IT and you MUST convert.

I've found this stuff before in the tubes at the drive-thru part of my bank....

they are making irony of themselves not from others..that is so stupid.

And look at the customs of the Muslim student..wow..what a great stereotyping method..and the first thing is to try to make the children convert?

they need some education.
