A Question About Heaven?

No one works in heaven, right? So does that mean the stores are all closed? But, with a word, can you get what you came for?

0:3 *whistles*

Update:

Just a clarification. I'm an Agnostic. I don't really believe in heaven. I'm just having a bit of fun. If you get it, you're cool. If not... *shrug*

OK there will be a new city, and you can get whatever you want there, you just wont want anything you would normally want here;)

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,

That's easy. God is omniscient, omnipotent and ubiquitous, right? So he is going to cook, clean, sell and pay for everything. He IS heaven's service industry. So every time you go into a store in heaven, God will wait on you personally AND ring you up. He will be the voice on the speaker asking if you want fries with that. People wonder why it's taking Jesus so long to come back? He said he was preparing the place! Now you see why! God is probably resting up good because he's not getting any sleep after judgment day.

And if seeing God everywhere creeps anybody out, well, they know where they can go...

The bible states quite clearly that we do not know what heaven is like, nor will we be told while here on earth.

We are told only that it is better than the best pleasure we can think of here on earth.

Now, on to my own personal thoughts on the subject.

Seems to me that we are not told what heaven is like simply because if we knew, not one of us would want to stay here on earth. We are stubborn and self willed and if we knew what was awaiting us, we would do the very thing to get there that would keep us out and that is denying why we are here for this appointed time and rushing our way to getting where we want to be.

actually, there is a lot of work in heaven. As the bible says God has bought out persons out of the earth and they will have a Job in heaven, a supervisor kind of job actually, they will be kings ruling along with Jesus. So they will be busy keeping us in line here on earth. Cant have a king unless there is someone to rule over them ya know.

I don't remember ever reading that no one works in Heaven. There are some passages that imply that we will work doing exactly what makes us the happiest. There are very few details about what Heaven will be like. Happiness is used most often to describe it.

I love a song from the Talking Heads which I paraphrase here.

    "Heaven"

Everyone is trying to get to the bar.

The name of the bar, the bar is called Heaven.

The band in Heaven plays my favorite song.

They play it once again, they play it all night long.

There is a party, everyone is there.

Everyone will leave at exactly the same time.

Its hard to imagine that nothing at all

could be so exciting, could be this much fun.

When this kiss is over it will start again.

It will not be any different, it will be exactly

    the same.

It's hard to imagine that nothing at all

could be so exciting, could be so much fun.

Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens.

Changed my life.... lol. Seriously - think David Bryne is right on this one. Sounds boring to me.

    "Well it makes me wonder....."

Zeppelin rock. Thing is if you can get what you came for with a word, then so can everybody else, and some of that means they'd get your stuff just because they want it...does that mean that Heaven would be an anarchy? Guess that makes sense, cos bureaucracy is Hell....;o)

It all depends if you believe in heaven. If you believe in heave, you can pretty much believe it to be whatever you want it to be. Even if you are a Christian, you have many creative choices other than pearly gates and streets of gold.
