I like this ? and it would take some time to really decide because what all could I change? I mean I could I change the world or just what effects me personally?
See there are a lot of things that I would love to change, now in changing them, what will it effect? Like:
If slavery hadn't happened, would I be here? or my children? or if Hitler was never born what then, would have Stalin taking over the world instead? I mean I do not wish that any of these bad things happened but, in the course of them happening, some good have come from it all in one way or another, So would I go back and make things different? I am not quite sure I would want this kind of power, I hope I have not offend anyone with my answers here.....It is how I really think about this question..........Again great question......I will be looking at how others answer it.............

I would stop the Romans from burning Alexandria and it's libraries.
I would also see to it that St. Augustine was assasinated - probably via syphilis.
Humans were performing brain surgery and inventing machines before the Romans and Catholicism brought the Dark Ages setting humanity back more than 2000 years. The Industrial Revolution could have begun in 400AD.
Our recovery has just begun - most are still under the influence. Think where we'd be now - we'd be beyond our Solar System.

This is basically 'what would you do if you had a time machine' right? Well, surely everyone knows not to mess with time, that changing one tiny thing in the past can completely alter the entire course of history (the grandfather effect etc)
But purely for shits and giggles: I'd go way way back and drop something 'extra' into the primordial goo, just too see what other evolution could of happened, what they would be like, and finally end up seeing how they'd screw there's up in their own specific way!

I would go back and prevent the burning of the Library of Alexandria and the Spanish Inquisition. These two events are probably the WORST events for mankind. Even above Hitler/Stalin/PolPot and little bush!
The knowledge that was lost gave rise to the "dark ages"
I would also go back and stop the bootlegging of Absynthe in the 1850's(?) as the bootlegging gave a foothold for prohibition in many countries.

You wouldn't want to change anything!!!. Consider the following: you go back and kill Hitler when he was a baby...a very riteous move, right? Wrong.
Because of your meddling in the space time continuum, Ernst Roehm becomes Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and HE decides to develop 'heavy water' experiments that leads to the development of an A-bomb in 1939...well ahead of the Allies.
With nuclear capacity, he easily defeats Mother Russia, Britain and the Allies and enslaves half the world, totally eliminating European Jewry. Thanks to your meddling, the consequences were catastrophic.

NOTHING
I was thinking...why not keep Adam & Eve from sinning but...then we wouldn't know God. Like know him. See when humans were perfect we were always spiritual. But when we sinned we lost that...now we have to work for that. With that comes feeling God and having him work in you. So it would be nothing. Because if I changed that we wouldn't feel God like we do know.

I would go back in time and either prevent Hitler being born or stop guns being invented

How far back? I would go back and have somethings removed from the Bible. I would stop the Crusades. I would stop Slavery. I would stop Pol Pot. I would stop persecution of Native Americans. I would stop Imperialism.
