I don't want to marry.
I used to, but now I dont' like trying to assume that my current relationship may last a lifetime. It doesn't have to, and I'm okay with that.
My relationship is going well. It may last 5 years, 15 years, or 6 months. Regardless, I don't need to be 'confined' but an institution that is unnecessary.
Look at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been partners forever and they never got 'married'. In their own eyes, they are, and they don't need a piece of paper by the goverment to tell them otherwise.
Besides if people marry then divorce, it may get even more messier.

People marry because they feel it is a sacred bond and they would do anything to save it. Some people stay together for years and never get married. Personally i don't think there is enough people out there that take marriage as serious as its suppose to be and its a lot harder to get a divorce then break up. I don't think people being married means you never get divorced but no matter what you should give it your all before you give up on a marriage and a lot of people get married too quick. Its not what it used to be. I believe you can have just as good as a relationship not being married as being married. Its all about personal views though and religion what each person believes.

I got married and now I'm getting divorced. The next time I am with someone I love, I'm not going to bother getting married because if you love someone, why do you need a piece of paper saying that you do?

I don't believe in marriage. The only reason why i am married is for legal reasons and kids and health. it's just a piece of paper!

To lessen up failed marraiges...alot of adjustment when you live together there you see the real person when you stay in one roof. Then why hurry? I've been into my relationship for more than 3 years being engaged & exclusively dating my fiance.

I suppose personal preference and what would work best for their situation. Both have advantages.
