Why do some people still live together after their divorced?

I think many times divorce is a fast decision or a decision made in the heat of passion when a person is hurt. After thought is given to it they decide it was a mistake. And sometimes when that little piece of paper is gone folks feel more at ease.the pressure is off.......When you have been with someone for a really long time you know them very well and you do love them regardless of what they have done. When you have had time to think or grow-up a bit more you know you love them and you are comfortable with them and many times after a divorce the communication is more open and the people involved becomes friends.

Sometimes people still live together for the benefit of the children. I have a sister who divorced her husband, they lived apart for a while and now they are living in the same house again. Their son is handicapped and the divorce really caused havoc on the child. He started acting out in school and things, now that they are back together he seems to have calmed down again.

Another is financial. Some people find out that once they divorce, they basically just can't make it by themselves. They need to be together in order to afford the basics like food, shelter, etc.

Sometimes financial reasons, the kids, health issues, one has no place to live yet, depends on how friendly they remain and their situations.

It may be because of their religion... read it in a book
