If you believe all faithful Christians go to heaven when they die, can you explain the following verses?
Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."
Psalm 37:9-11, 29 - "For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. – The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it."
Proverbs 2:21, 22 - "For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it."
What do these passages mean as they relate to your beliefs about our heavenly destiny?
Thank you.
Shay, that doesn't answer the question.
Jason: The question is, "If you BELIEVE..." Obviously, you do not, so answer fails to provide insight.
Thank you P June.
Acquired: Yes they are from the Bible, but make no reference to reincarnation.
Nebtet, you may be interested in Revelation 11:18, which says that God will destroy those who would destroy the earth. I know how you feel.
To those I do not mention by name, thank you for your thoughtful replies.
JR, that is an accurate statement.

Most faithful Christians will live on a restored paradise earth, under God's Messianic Kingdom by Christ Jesus. Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

1) Read Revelation 20:4-6. The "meek" are not dead, they made it alive through the Tribulation.
2) Rev 20:4-6 also applies. Verse 10 of Psalm 37 points to Revelation 19:11-21. Read also Revelation 21 and 22 to understand the "forever" reference.
3) Again, Rev. 19 through 21 should enlighten you on this subject.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message through YA.
Peace.

1a# Does hell really exist ? Hell is the common grave of mankind. Every human "goes" there. 1b# If it does, Is hell a place where sinners really do burn in an everlasting fire ? No. No such place. There is no place that people burn forever in an eternal fire. Revelations tells us that hell will be thrown in the lake of fire to disappear forever. 2# What does this verse mean : Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Well... didn't read your message all the way through before answering. Anyways... it means that death will cease to exist.

We who hope in Jehovah, God, will one day rule the earth when He returns. Satan and his demons will no longer be around, v10. God's righteous followers will inherit the entire land and live there forever, v29. This land is NOT the earth as we know it today, but something far beyond what we can imagine, 2 Peter 3:13.
I pray that this has helped you.

yeah well, by the time the meek inherit the Earth it'll be a polluted wasteland due to the Bic disposable mentality that takes the "be fruitful and multiply" edict and the dominion over nature and Raptured Before the Tribulation concepts far more to heart than being stewards of God's beautiful garden. Rapture Christians feel no responsibility for the preservation of vital eco systems since they imagine that they'll be whisked away to heaven before the consequences of their shared greed and shortsightedness is felt by those "Left Behind".
the meek shall inherit a toxic waste dump. gee ... thanks alot.

Although I have refused to 'become' a JW, I respect and admire their continuous 'searching for the truth'...
It's hard to convince the Conventional Bible Thumpers that there ain't no hell....hahahaha

We live under grace, from Jesus the Christ.
The only people getting into Heaven are the ones with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
It's that simple.
