Why Do I Always Feel????

So tired. ............

I always feel so tired and i get enough sleep. I am not anemic, and feel in good health, apart from the tiredness. I do the usual daily thing, get up, take my son to school, go to work, come home do the house work, etc etc. My day does vary so it is not all a set routine.

I just cant seem to shake this forever tiredness feeling. My diet is ok, i get enough exercise, although i do feel slightly fed -up but that is due to feeling so tired. I am beginning to think it could be depression, but would it make me feel so tired? All i want to do is sleep. Ive suffered depression before but it wasnt this extreme.

Could i be lacking certain vitamins/minerals?

Anyone else ever felt like this, and how did you shake it off?

Any advice would be appreciated.

35 year old female.

    Same age - try having a yoghurt every morning. I used to have actimel but was told they aren't really that good by a dietitian and to try yoghurts instead. I too have to get up and take the kids to school and the boring housework. Try asking your pharmacist or if you have a health food shop nearby, they'll be able to advise you on vitamins etc.

    My hubby suffers with this. He has been told that it could be ME, or chronic fatigue syndrome.

    He has tried a number of antidepressants and sleeping tablets, some of which have been had to get off of. The ones he is currently one seem to be working.

    He had glandular fever when he was 18, and this is the most common trigger for this.

    Go and see you GP and ask what he thinks about this. There is not a test to prove if you are or are not suffering from this. It will have to be done on evaluation alone, and your GP belief that ME exists.

    I hope this helps, and that you are feeling better very soon.

    That is a tough one. It could be that you are getting too much sleep and that is causing extra tiredness. The only time I have felt very tired is during pregnancy. Be sure that you are drinking an adequate amount of water. You didn't state if you were on any sort of medications, so that could be a culprit if so. I would go to the doctor if you are feeling a bout of depression.

    I don't think its a depression, as you say you exercises yourself and you eat well. A depressive person doesn't do any of this two things, and also you are trying to find a solution.

    I think it could be one of this two things:

    a) Hypothyroidism. This causes a low metabolism associated with lack of strength. You should take a blood test to check this out. The solution is a daily pill.

    b) Although you think you are sleeping well, you may be breathing insufficiently (hypoxia). This causes a lack of oxygenation in the brain, causing laziness.

    You should consult a doctor anyway, maybe it is a simple thing.

    Good luck.

    I feel this way as well. I agree that it can be because of vitamin deficiency. But also my day can often be emotionally draining, and that is what leaves me tired at times. Are you going to sleep at an early hour, you may be getting too much sleep. You should also consider things like sleep apnea, especially if you are over weight, it is more common than many think.

    At 35, it could be hormonal imbalance - you're entering premenopause. 35 is the average age that the American woman enters premenopause!

    How many of these symptoms do you have?

    Acceleration of the aging process; Allergy symptoms, including asthma, hives, rashes, sinus; Congestion; Bloating; Breast enlargement; Breast tenderness; Cold hands and feet; Cramps; Decreased sex drive; Depression with anxiety or agitation;

    Early onset of menstruation; Fat / Weight gain, especially around the abdomen, hips and thighs; Fatigue; Foggy thinking; Gallbladder disease; Hair loss; Headaches; Hypoglycemia; Heavy menstrual flow (must rule out ovarian cysts or fibroids); Carbohydrate cravings; Certain types of acne; Mood swings;

    Water retention; Irregular periods; Uterine fibroids; PMS; Fibrocystic breasts; Endometriosis; Infertility; Early miscarriage; Inability to lose weight; Cervical dysphasia; Dry skin and eyes

    A multivitamin with iron is a good choice, it gives you that little boost we active women sometimes need. If there are cracks at the corners of your mouth or the mucosa of your eyes is pale, you could be slightly anemic which would explain part of the tiredness. You could be a little low on B-vitamins too.

    It certainly could be a reoccurance of depression & that would be my guess. I've been treated for depression for nearly 16 years so I certainly understand about being tired all the time. Also it could be fatigue syndrome or maybe even fibromyalgia. You should see your doctor.
