I strained my foot?

I strained my left foot on the left hand side and now my left leg, calves and thighs seem to ache and I can't sit without feelin uncomfortable. I think I stretched a muscle on my foot while on the treadmill.

Who should I seek help from a physiotherapist, podiatrist?

Doctor first, then be guided by what they say.

To support the injured area apply a bandage, and elevate your foot.

    Rest the foot

Ice the area - 20mins on an hour off

Compression - wrap a compression bandage around the injured ankle moving from the toes towards the knee to move any swelling back towards the body

    Elevation - above heart level

Give it about 3 days before going to see a physio. They can futher treat the referred muscle soreness and damage you've described. They can also assist in re-strenghtening the ankle to help prevent it reoccuring.

a therapist will be able to help you.... when you injure your foot you usually alter your gait, the way you walk, so that ends up causing pain up into your knee and possibly up the rest of the leg... you should be resting, and when you walk, try and walk slowly with a normal gait pattern without limping...walking fast with a limp can cause this.... and yeah...get to a therapist
