Ok, let's see? If a guy breaks a girl's heart, she will find it hard to keep on accepting him as her boyfriend. So if she doesn't forgive him, she breaks up with him...that's basic.

Now, sometimes both of them keep the friendship IF the break up isn't that bad. Or if they were very good friends before they got together.

Why doesn't this guy want to stay friends with her?

Is it for revenge - as the break up was from her side?

Or could it be that he still likes her and he might get hurt whenever he sees her .... so he just switches off the friendship button in order not to see her?

Either way, he must tell her why he won't stay friends with her, there must be a reason (apart from the break up) or else she will keep on thinking that he's a jerk....

probably b/c girls tend to look at guys they're dating not only as a boyfriend but also as a platonic friend with benefits (that is unless she's in love with the guy) especially since most couples spend alot of time together doing fun stuff.

so when the guy doesn't want to hang out and do some of the same stuff they did while dating, she looks at it like she's losing a friend, companion, buddy. who will she go to the movies with, now?!

it's worse if she stopped hanging out with her girlfriends while dating the guy. she's gotta crawl back to them and hope they'll let her back in the circle. if she didn't have many friends in the first place, she's gonna look at you as the jerk.

just tell her that you need space and time to be with your friends and she should do the same. after awhile she'll start having fun with them again and can start treating you as a good friend without being co-dependent and clingy.

They know they've hurt your feelings, but they don't want to totally crush your spirit. Being friends is sometimes a "consolation prize".

    And...

Sometimes - as one of the other ladies said - some girls don't want to totally give you up but they want a little more freedom and a little more freedom to try other things. Some girls just need a break for awhile.

In a woman's mind, they might really cherish a guy for his friendship, so if she breaks off a relationship, and the guy does NOT want to be her friend, she will feel hurt and will lash out in anger.

They may be trying to ease their conscience by trying to be friends. They forget how much they just hurt the guy, and because they been spending so much time with the guy, it is hard for them to adjust being away from them...so they still want to be friends, you see? I know it 's wrong, just tell them they hurt your feelers and you don't want to see them anymore.

I don't know if I break up with a guy I don't wanna be friends with him

Yeah, alot of them they think they can have it both ways.

When they can't they blame the guy, rather than accepting the blame themselves.

Because we like to "keep" everything. Unfortunately, we have to be involved to see if a relationship will be a good fit, and when it turns out not to be, we want to go back to the beginning and still like and be liked.

the girl wants to make sure everything is better, and that all feelings have been sorted out and everything is fine.

or that is my guess, I am one of those girls who never wants to see an ex again....
