PLEASE Explain This To Me, WHAT Does This Mean??

Community Guideline 1f states;

1. YOU MAY NOT POST CONTENT (or links to content, including photos):

f. that glorifies self-harm, suicide, anorexia, bulimia, or any other practice that is clearly unhealthy or harmful.

Does this apply under all circumstance?

Is there a specific category that it would be acceptable in?

Are there ANY exceptions?

This means that people may not post questions, answers, comments, photos, or links to photos or sites that will encourage people to in anyway harm themselves.

This means that you may discuss cutting, mutilating, killing oneself, or about eating disorder practices. If you post questions like this they will be removed from the site at once, and a follow up email offering places to obtain help in your local area will be sent to you. This also applies to people tell people to act on suicide or self harm practices.

The only time one can ask about these topics is in regards to grieving for somebody who has participated in them or in recovery steps. Some examples would be:

My father recently committed suicide and I am feeling really depressed. Where can I turn for help?

    or

I have been 3 years recovered since my last episode of anorexia, but I still feel the urge. Is this normal? Are there things I can do to prevent these feelings?

You can see that these are more about recovery and help then harm. If anybody needs more clarity you can email us at y_answrs_team@yahoo.com to discuss it more.

i guess that some of the people who write in have serious situation that are borderline to start with and if the sociopathic attempt by other to help push them over the edge in the wrong direction is not the kind of help that the answers are for, kind like if the joke went:: this way= the day was bad and i felt really bad so i asked a friend what should i do and the friend said cheer-up this could get worse so the guy cheered up and sure enough things got worse...but that the light side of it so you can see that somewhere helping someone could mean leaving them alone if you don't have good intentions or mistaken interpretations & exceptions

It applies under all circumstances if it GLORIFIES any of these stated. So basically don't say its' all great and stuff but if someone has a problem or a question it may be acceptable to ask a question or to address a problem in a healthy way withouth advocating all that.

It means what it says; it's quite clear. I'm not at all sure what you don't understand about it.

Yes, it applies under all circumstances.

No, there's no category it would be acceptable in.

    No, there are no exceptions.

The key word here is 'glorify' that is, to make any of those self-destructive behaviors sound like a Really Great Idea.

I can't help wondering what this series of questions of yours is all about.

Its pretty clear to me, if it makes any of those activities seem like a good thing to do, then don't post it. If it advises against those activities, then it's ok.

no one has the right to tell you how you think. but you should be able to say whatever the hell you want. and if someone follows in suit, then isn't it their own fault for conforming to something unhealthy? doesn't that prove the weakness of the reader? isn't that the greatest failure? to fail because someone else said so. THAT'S what i think should never be acknowledged-people who lack a mind. without a mind, what are we? sheep?
