It is adviceable to wear an all weather coat with a woolen lining with a hood. In case it snows or rains. also bring along a scarf for protection for your hair, or put around your neck to protect your throat.

In that part of Germany you can expect snow, therefore dress warm in layers especially while on the train. So you can take things off if you get too warm, trains are heated. Winter boots are a must and a warm coat.

Layers iare always good. It is very cold over there that time of year. Take the big coat on the plane (makes a good pillow or blanket) to save room for the stuff you buy there. If you run out of room while over there, send home your dirty clothes. Be sure to take a hat to cover your ears, scarf and mittens/gloves.
