I want to lose 60 pounds or 4 dress sizes by February 16th.?

What should and shouldn't I eat and what are the best exercises to do. I know it's not healthy but I know it's not impossible either. I am serious, so please, only serious comments.

    Okay. Let me start this by giving my example. I lost around 20 pounds in 4-5 months. The good thing is i didnt gain anything.

    My earlier life @220 pounds:

    -No breakfast or cup of coffee

    -Heavy lunch around 1800 calories with lots of fat.

    -After noon some choclates to avoid my work headaces.

    -Snacks and TV.

    -Dinner around 9 pm around 1800 cal ( Jack in box, burger, curly fries and a milk shake)

    I just made the below changes to get to @200 for 4 months.

    -Breakfast an apple

    -lunch around 1000 calories ( subway sandwitch)

    -work out evening( 30 mins wieghts, 30 min run + walk)

    -Dinner around 1200 calories.

    I came down to 200 and i eating pizzas and every other crap from last 3 months. I am not even exercising that often now.I just run twice a week for 30 mins.

    Below are the tips

    -> Dont worry about losing weight. Worry about losing fat. It takes a long time to build/ lose fat in body. It takes a short time to build/lose weight.

    -> If you want to lose weight, simple strategy is eat around 300 cals less of what you regulary eat and run on thread mill ( 5/6 miles/hr) for 30-45 mins.

    -> If you want to lose fat, then its more bloody complex story. You eat 300 cals less. Also, make sure, you dont eat much fatty foods, but make sure you eat a little protein. And your exercise should contain more of walking ( 4/4.5 miles/hr) rather than running. You need to lift some weights. Do some streches.

    -> Also, good thumb of rule is if you are going to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week, it means you are not losing fat, you are losing the bone. Not good in long term ( 3/4 months after wards).

    -> Typically, what ever you do to acheive increasing your metabolism helps u in long term.

    Solution for you:

    Nov 15- Feb 15. - 12 weeks.

    Keep a goal of reducing 24 pounds. That itself is a really good goal. You wont feel like reducing more once you start seeing these permanent results.

    Well if you still like to go with ur plan. Here is something you can try.

    -Need to reduce 5 pounds per week. That means 1 pound per a working day.

    -1 pound is 3500 cal. approx. That means your diet + exercise should = Earilier eating + exercise - 3500 .

    Engage yourself in an exercise program. Choose an exercise that you want to do & someone close to you wants it also. Why? If you exercise by yourself only, the tendency is for you to stop halfway. If you do something with a friend, with the same wish of loosing weight then both of you will have the same goal! Exercise first for 30 minutes 3x per week. If you are already used to with this then increase it to 4-7x a week.

    Better see a nutritionist! Loosing too much weight too soon is also bad. It should be lost gradually. Avoid too much of softdrinks, if you cant do then diet can do. However, water is the best. Have breakfast, lunch, dinner & 2 snacks. Dont eat 1 meal a day. It defeats the purpose of dieting. If you only eat once a day, then the next time you will eat, you will be pigging it out! Sorry for the term.

    Are you into sports? brisk walking? dancing or jogging? I have friends who play badminton & loose 50 lbs in 1 years time. 60 lbs until February is not an ideal one. It should be gradually. You might end up in the hospital soon if you loose weight at a faster rate!

    You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

    for every 10 pounds I have heard it is a dress size,

    to answer your question diet and exercise are the only way to loose weight if you have no health problems, if you do I would make an appt with my dr. and ask them the best way

    Leslie Sansone has a great exercise tape that you can purchase at most department stores

    Remember the festive season is on its way and will you have the willpower to say no to all the yummies during this time. Why don't you change your lifestyle as from today and set reachable and realistic goals to yourself. It will lead to a much more satisfactory change than rushing into a accelerated weight loss mission. I recommend your get yourself the book Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle.

    Check out LA wieghtloss or Medical Weightloss centers in your yellow pages...they have programs for this type of ambitious goal.

    That's about twice as much as you should loose in that amount of time...... to do it healthily
