IUD question?

A few weeks back, I was pregnant and it was expelled due to an IUD in place. Now that I was pregnant, my husband and I want another child, we have 2 girls. I'm planning to take out my IUD and am going to work on the shettles method, we want a boy. Will removing my IUD, change my cycle? I'm on a 28 day cycle, and I'm also going to start the BBT. So I was wondering, if taking it out will affect my timing? We figured we would practice until we got the dates down of when I ovulate. Again, would it change my ovulation dates I guess is my real question? Sorry so confusing, I'm really looking forward to another baby. Thank you so much.

Wow I'm going through that right now. You're right, we're supposed to return to fertility right after removal, but I've been trying since August. I, like you, have 2 girls & hoping for a boy. I will tell you this. While everyone's body is different, your cycles may change a little. The length of days you bleed will change (become shorter). I've gone from 30 & 31 day cycles to 27-28. My sister- in- law, however, got pregnant less than a month after she had her's removed & she's due next week. She only had it about 5 months, I had mine for a little over 5 years (it was a 10 year IUD). Please save yourself a lot of heartache & stress by not doing all of that timing and trying crap. Learn from me & the others who are ttc. Just enjoy your lovemaking and try not to get all technical about it. I read about Dr. Shettle's method a few months ago & it sounds promising, but please try to be realistic. Man cannot determine the sex of a baby. Pray and leave it in God's hands. I started out trying Shettle's because I really didn't see myself having 3 girls & I really wanted the opportunity to raise children of both sexes. Now that I actually have to worry about my fertility, I don't care what sex I have as long as I can still conceive. I don't want you to get all depressed reading my post, just trying to keep a little reality going. Good luck and God Bless!

Well, in the information I was givin right after I had my daughter, once they take the IUD out... your fertility is suppose to return with out any delay. I am sorry for your loss!! I think that you probably will get back on your regular schedule and you can start the BBT once you start your next period!

    Good Luck, and God Bless!

It most likely will alter your cycle. I had mine removed several weeks ago and continued to bleed for 2 weeks and now I have no idea when to expect my period. Then again, my removal went surgical when they could not get it out.
