Add Bans for food yes/no?

The government through its Quango are to ban food advertised when kids watch TV. How is it Saturday morning BBC tv is all food programmes. This week the saviour of school meals (JOKE) Jamie Oliver did Pork with extra salt Kababs. Not he used all the fat in his sauce. So one Quango say's no adds and the other shows kids off school at home how to make fatty, suggery food.

the only reason that i see is because they are worried that kids in UK are going to look like their USA counterparts personally its a waste of time because chavs will feed the Little brats what they scream for and no govt help hoverer good will help

Personally I think that this is just another example of our Government trying to create a Nanny state. Just because there is an advert for the wrong sorts of food does not mean that you have to buy it for your child. It is the same as adverts for toys. When one of those comes on the tv my kids go 'oh that's great can I have one'. I usually either ignore it and it's forgotten 2 minutes leter or say no that's it. If my kids come shopping with me, I let them pick a couple of treats - biscuits/cakes etc but that's it. I just say NO if they ask for more. My kids eat healthily and have treats in moderation. It all comes down to parents not having the time or being bothered to cook healthy meals for their kids and actually saying the NO word to too many fatty unhealthy products. It is just as quick to make a healthy meal/snack for you kids as it is to stick nuggets and chips in the oven every night.

I don't agree with that at all. Its an informed decision that the parents make - and it is the responsibility of the parents not the Government! to ensure their children are getting a balanced diet. I can't imagine the BBC will be happy about that!

Stupid government mind control. The way to stop obesity is to allow bullying like they had in the good old days... not use propaganda to try and warp reality. I enjoyed the old cigar adds they used to show on TV... but now I am forced to rely on Youtube for my fix!!!
