elbow surgery?
Why would a fractured elbow require surgery. my doc wants to put a prosthesis in at the elbow but its a lil fracture and i think this sounds ridiculous. has anyone ever fractured there elbow and had surgery or elected not to ? is a prosthesis better in the long run? what if i elect not to will i be disabled somehow?

if you fractured your elbow there should be no reason for surgery unless there has been considerable damage to the tendons or ligaments.
i would get a second opinion and an x ray to back it up.
and no you should not be disabled at all.

i heard that elbows and knees have a hard time healing and after even very mild injuries can be permanently damaged. i think a prosthesis would wear dowm slower than the actual bone. take your doctor's advice. he's supossed to know. or ask a different doctor

@nd opinion 4 sure. Not all docs are gods dude........ That's why they are called medical practitioners....(practice) When anyone suggests cutting you open regardless of how long they have been your doc it is always smart to have a second opinion as well as a second re-do of xrays. Good luck.
