Do I cook the spinach for spinach dip?
I am making spinach dip for the first time. The recipe calls for frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained. Do you cook it?

the recipe should tell you whether to cook the spinach otherwise it normally would say use Uncooked or cooked spinach.. Are you making spinach dip? Or are you making a dish for spinaching dip? You don't need to cook spinach for dip. You can if You want to. The best is just steam it a bit! I bet you wouldn't cook cucumbers to make cucumber dip, would you? Spinach is the same! If the recipe doesn't call for cooking then don't cook the Spinach!

Cook the spinach and drain very well.
Chop finely and mix with 1 tub of cream cheese. Season and serve.

No, you do not cook the spinach for spinach dip. You just squeeze the water out of it and mix with the other ingredients (soup mix, sour cream and mayonnaise, etc)

Nope don't cook it. Just make sure you drain it really well or else your dip will get runny. You know what I do? I take it and squeeze it in my hands to get the water out. I do it a couple of times to really get the moisture out..otherwise your dip will suck.

the spinach is already cooked so no you would not have to cook it unless its a warm spinach dip.
