the recipe should tell you whether to cook the spinach otherwise it normally would say use Uncooked or cooked spinach.. Are you making spinach dip? Or are you making a dish for spinaching dip? You don't need to cook spinach for dip. You can if You want to. The best is just steam it a bit! I bet you wouldn't cook cucumbers to make cucumber dip, would you? Spinach is the same!
