Cookies - bake homemade cookies for the whole bunch.

    Jell-o Pudding Cookies

    2 1/4 cups flour

    1 tsp. baking soda

    2 sticks butter/margarine

    3/4 cup brown sugar

    1/4 cup sugar

    1 package INSTANT chocolate pudding

    1 tsp. vanilla

    2 eggs

1 bag (11-12 oz.) milk chocolate chips

    Combine flour and baking soda.

In mixing bowl, combine pudding, butter, the sugars, vanilla until well blended. Add eggs and mix until smooth. Gradually add flour mixture, then chocolate chips. Place in rounded spoonfuls on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.

    Delicious and cheap.

I found some great (inexpensive) gifts at both Joann's Craft Store (they had some cute little bears, snowmen, gingerbreadmen and moose for $2 each) as well as at Walgreens Drug Store (they have some very cute stuffed snowmen ornaments $1 each). Little crafty looking items are cute, suitable for everyone, and inexpensive. Teachers also appreciate something that is just for them... they give all day to others- it is nice to just have something for themselves. In the past I have given things like a mug, with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows, a microwave popcorn and a gift certificate for a movie rental. The dollar store is also a great place for inexpensive gifts ideas.

Go to your local dollar store (where everything is a dollar) Buy a bin that could be reused or a basket. Fill w/supplies that the entire class could use. Include coloring books, stickers, erasers, prizes or ribbons. For teacher- You may throw in a festive mug w/packets of hot cocoa or chamomile tea and cookies. Usually they sell see through wrap and bows w/ties. Just an idea.

Sometimes it's difficult to purchase candy/food gifts for people, as I always worry about alergies or diabetes etc.

But if you do purchase a food gift, Lindt chocolate always goes over well! It would be a nice time with your daughter to decorate a few bags together with markers, glitter, etc and then split a bag of chocolates or a batch of cookies among the bag. This would not only take care of getting the gift ready/wrapped, but provide you with a little extra fun time with your girl.

As for non-food items, ornaments are nice!! Seasonal fun.

I was a teachers aide at a preschool, and the most wonderful gift I got was a handmade card with homemade cookies. But what made them wonderful to me was that they came from a child who I honestly thought hated me.

Write a note to each teacher to tell him or her the impact of their contribution on your daughter's life.

Make a donation to a children's charity in the name of the teachers.

If you have a trader joe's near you, their chocolate truffles are wonderful - wrap some in a cellophane bag with a pretty bow and a nice note.

I'm making gingerbread biscuits and truffles as school gifts. It'll take me about and hour and a half to make enough for 5 people. II've saved up large jars, and I'll decorate them with ribbons and bells so they look pretty.

Then, beautify the jar with ribbons and a bow. place a card on with training on a thank you to coach the recipe. it somewhat is it! you're finished. it somewhat is one present it somewhat is particular to be a brilliant hit with the instructor.

Travel mugs, gift certificates to restaurants; talk tot he teacher a bit and find out what her hobbies are and get her a gift certificate that reflects that. Ummm, massage gifts certificates are great too.

Inexpensive plants are always appreciated - something they can put in the classroom. I am a teacher, and I love getting plants. No need to replant after purchasing; just tie a pretty festive ribbon around the pot it came in.
