Do you give your mailman, trash men, maintenance men, etc. Christmas presents? What kind of gifts?

This is an older practice that seems to have become "outdated" these days.

Ironically, I think it would be really nice of you to do it... and for others to follow your example! The gifts can be small! A few chocolates or candies... anything really!

The sentiment would be really well received by these folks and I think it would be amazing to many how such a small gesture can make both the recipient and the gift-giver smile!

It's little things like this that we have gotten so far away from in our ever-too-busy lives, but it's little things like this that can make all the difference in another person's day!

I give my mail lady $5.00 with a card even though it is against policy for them to accept. I also give her a few cookies. Not many because she has to carry whatever she gets around all day. Trash guys no. They always leave a mess behind that has to be cleaned up. I give my hair dresser $10 and a small gift.

Can't really say this is anything related to Christmas, but, whenever I have something questionable to be picked up by my trashmen, I always have a 24 pack case of beer (usaully from BJ's) on the ready when I hear the truck coming down the road. I simply walk out to the curb with it which always gets the drivers attention. They seem only to glad to pick up very large loads for me.

Well one year the trash men gave us a card so from then on we leave a card with like pieces of candy inside.

Money is acceptable, although a gift certificate may be wiser. Around $20 is the average amount.

We give the mailman and the paper boy homemade goodies, just like every one of our friends gets, usually cookies or fudge. They seem to like it.

ONLY the my mailman... He gets something small as in a treat, like candy or nuts.

I can't say I do. If you are going to though you could get them an inexpensive cologne, or a gift certificate or something small.
