Why should God bless America?

Be careful. People who lament like you do eventually end up walking back and forth in dirty clothes and no shoes mumbling to themselves.

I agree, we certainly don't deserve it. You most likely meant this as a mainly rhetorical question. However, if you dig back through the earlier part of Genesis (Gen 12, perhaps, or somewhere around there; I don't have a Bible here with me) to find the covenant God made with Abraham, you may find an answer to it. God told Abraham "the nations that bless you, I will bless; the nations that curse you, I will curse." America has been good to the Jews, allowing them to live and worship freely here -- as much as a government can. Individuals have reviled the Jews, but as a nation we have not. You sound like one who probably reads his Bible. Go check this out. You probably also know that God always keeps His promises, no matter how much time passes.

We put that phrase on our money and elsewhere because of the song - but have you ever listened to it? It's not talking about the people, it's talking about the LAND.

The people get their blessings individually, the land is plenty blessed already. Ever notice how beautiful America is?

Because the Athiests won't let him. Seriously, you know WHY they took the ten commandments off the state lawn? Because every politician who walked by it got a "Guilty conscience." And have you noticed reading the bible is a taboo to the younger generation? America has become a cesspool for false idols and religions. I remember the days when "God and Country" actually meant something. Now it means squat.

I don't know why God continues to bless Us, but I am very grateful for it. And I do pray He will continue to bless us. Perhaps it is because God is a merciful and Loving God. God is good to us even though we do not deserve it. God will keep giving everyone a chance to the last minute....... before the return of Christ. God is good.

You can't have it both ways! You think the church is helping the problems of this country?! The problem is not God or the lack of believing in the Christian God, the problem is we equate MONEY with LIFE! That is what is causing the problems, we don't worship anything BUT MONEY! And, yeah, your church is guilty of it, too!

God blesses America and every living being in that country because He created us all for a purpose: to show his goodness and to share with us his divine life and his everlasting happiness in heaven. this means that God is always doing things to keep us close to Him but WE push Him away maybe because of ignorance. He protects us even when some think He doesn't even exist. whether one believes in God or not, he knows that there is a higher/supreme being that started life in us and around us, and that being has a purpose for us in our earthly life.

God does not only love America, He loves everyone (in every country) who has ever lived and is living now. even those who turn away from Him, those who don't believe in Him, those who say wrong things about Him, those who kill and destroy His creations (people, for example)...He somehow guides us toward Him even when we don't know it's happening. He looks for ways for us to find Him and to find happiness and love in Him.

the 9/11 made Americans somehow unite and believe in God or a supreme being right? that is one way that God is trying to tell us something even though it has caused major disasters to both countries and to those who lost their loved ones. why did God let such a thing happen? because there is always something GOOD that comes out even from something bad. it's like learning a lesson from doing something wrong. God ALWAYS gives us what is good if we sincerely ask for it and if He thinks it is right to give it to us.

there are a lot of lessons and messages we can extract from that tragedy even now. we ALL (not only Americans, but everyone in the world) have to find out what messages He is trying to give us and to really learn from them.

maybe He is trying to unite us all.

Unfortunately, America is made up of all kinds of people. Some believe, as you and I do (I assume you do). Some do not. Each one has a vote. Hopefully, you and I (still assuming here) will convince others or breed with our respectives wives enough to outpopulate those who do not believe.

What is there for God to bless? In this country, homosexuality is practiced as an alternative lifestyle. Drug abuse is rampant here. Clergymen who molest children are allowed to continue as clergymen. This country is always involved in warfare. Racial tension still exists. Tobacco companies are allowed to exist and sell their lethal products. Millions of people own firearms. Governmental officials are corrupt. Our skies and water are polluted. Pornography is allowed to exist and flourish. Prostitution is legal in some places.

So you tell me. Why should God bless America?

When Thomas Jefferson called Christianity the "most perverted system ever shone on man", why did God bless us despite that comment?

A: Because if there is a God, which is unlikely, he most certainly doesn't care about politics in the US.

Because we are responsible for spreading the good News of Jesus Christ ,Thats why we are Blessed And Why we sould be Blessed
