There will be many brief biography's about her, and her life.

I do know that Mary was called Bloody Mary, because she had over 300 people burned at the stakes, as part of her Religious punishments for unbelieving Catholics, in that time era.

It was a cruel way to kill someone, and let her with that horrible name "Bloody Mary" that has never stopped through history and generations to come. No one could forget the horror of her death orders. I do not believe in the superstition, that Mary is still out to haunt and kill those who call her name in front of a darkened mirror. You have no worries, Hon!

If you're talking about Queen Mary I she was indeed bloody, which is how she got the nickname. She burned 300 protestants at the stake and had all sorts of other people killed because she hated protestants. She *was* a ruthless killer. I don't know if the children's game of chanting "Bloody Mary" in the mirror is based on Queen Mary or someone else.

    I found a bit more:

Bloody Mary is often believed to be the spirit of a mother (often a widow) who murdered her children, or a woman who was murdered shortly before or after her wedding. Sometimes she is referred to as "Mary Worth."

Insofar as I know, that's the name of a vodka based cocktail. The "Virgin Mary" is the name of the non-alchoholic version.

Guess we are talking about two different things.

Or, you could be referring to the Queen Mary who had that nick name.

Bloody Mary is a name applied to both Queen Mary I of England and to a figure of Western folklore. Mary I acquired the epithet during the reign of her successor Elizabeth on account of the perceived ferocity of her religious persecutions. The folkloric character is a ghost or witch said to stalk children who summon her; other very similar tales use different names. Several other fictional characters are also called Bloody Mary.

Queen Mary, was given the title bloody Mary because of the plethora of burnings, primarily of protestants during her rein. A lot had to do with the religious turmoil of the Reformation, and the English Reformation that Mary's father, Henry VIII started. Mary did not possess the political savy of either her father or her younger sister, Elizabeth. Mary turned the responsibility of who was to be executed to Catholic bishops who had an axe to grind with the protestants that operated under Henry. To wit: Thomas Cranmer. An excellent read on this is A Crown for Elizabeth by Mary M. Luke

It's Queen Mary I of England. She persecuted Protestants so some people don't think she was very nice. She had people burnt at the stake.

The other Bloody Mary is a ghost or witch who is a murderer. Also not very nice. It's folklore and her name is sometimes said to be Mary Worth and that she killed children.

The real Bloody Mary was a queen of England, and called bloody for a good reason: she had a problem with Protestants and all non-Catholics (she had over 300 of them burned at the stake.) At one point, her own sister (the future Virgin Queen, Queen Elizabeth I ) was in fear for her own life.

There's many many many versions to the Bloody Mary folklure. One is that she was acually a young women named Mary Worthington and was murdered by her boyfriend who cut out her eyes. She is said to kill anyone in the presence or building of the person who said Bloody Mary. Although she will only kill you if you killed someone either purpously or accidentally or if you have enough guilt over someones death that you think it's your fault.

Isn't it a clue that you received an email related to a person who lived over 400 years ago? She was indeed well named Bloody Mary, but has no relation to the email you received.
