Tree roots & grease in sewer lines?

You can fix this if you are handy. Go to your local equipment rental and get a powered snake. This will enable you to cut through the grease and roots. If your sister rents her home, the landlord may even pay the fee. If you're not handy, call a plumber. There is no other way to fix this. It's a fairly common problem and the landlord SHOULD pay. If she owns her place, then it's just the cost of maintenance. GOOD LUCK

well for the greese if it is the sink trap take the trap apart clean the greese out that one is simple if thats where it is at. now the tree roots so prolly in ur pipe out side only thing u can do with that is dig up the pipe and replace it and for future prevention of greese getting stuck in ur pipes again when u pour greese down ur pipes make sure u run hot water while doing so hot water wont let the greese gel up and get hot till it is out to the main sewer

this is a bad thing to happen. call a sewer repair guy right away. hopefully the drain feild is not already in jeoperdy. that could cost a lot of money. there is no simple answere to that problem since it already exists. after it is repaired there are things you can do to prevent it from happening again. but dont wait to have a pro look at. before its to late. my neibor waited to long on his and it cost a few thousand to get it repaired. sorry Good Luck

Toto-Rooter. And...start pouring all that nasty grease into an old coffee can (or something similar) to hold it to cool and then throw away with regular garbage. You can put the lid on it, keep it in some inconspicuous spot (mine is under kitchen sink, handy). You can keep adding to it then throw away when full.
