How many people voted for George W. Bush in 2000 thinking that it was his father that was running?
I am frustrated at how stupid so many of my fellow Americans seem to be and I wonder how many might have voted out of name recognition only in 2000. Does anybody know if a statistical study has been done on this?

any idiot who would make that kind of mistake should not be allowed to vote....the last thing we need are irresponsible voters.....anyway voting for Jr vs Sr.....what is the difference? The administration policies are still the same!

Yes, the Bush sr. fans mostly all voted for his son. That's what happened.

I knew who he was but I have to agree with the other answerer and say I don't think many would admit this.

That is an unknowable unknown. If anyone did, it is unlikely that they would admit in a survey.
