Is there a university in the US that does not require algebra for a Bachelor's Degree?
My wife can not and will not take college algebra. She has a real phobia about it. She wants a degree in art, psychology, or library science. Is there a state in the country or a university anywhere that does not require her to take algebra?
5 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoShould I trade my seasonal job for a permanent position, even though the pay is HALF as much?
My current job lasts only 6 months each year, and pays $12.81 per hour. There are no benefits and no chance to advance. I have a chance to take a permanent position in another job with good benefits including profit sharing and a 401K plan. But it only pays $6.25 plus commission. Overall, I would make more money on the seasonal job (including unemployment) and have the other six months per year to do whatever I want. Also, I am 42 so I really need to get some type of retirement going. So, which would you do?
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoAre guard dogs so potentially dangerous that residents are actually LESS safe for having them?
Another man has died as a result of a dog attack at somebody's home (yes, he knew the dogs). Dogs often attack innocent passerbys, children and even the owners themselves. I wonder if owning guard dogs is actually more dangerous than the possibility of encountering an intruder. Does anybody have a link to statistical information?

I am interested in building a small home and living off the grid (being self sufficient without using public utilities). What experiences have you had?
9 AnswersGreen Living1 decade agoHow much have YOU made on your self-published book?
Okay, I have researched numerous sources and I have decided that self-publishing is the best avenue for me to go. I realize that every situation is different. But I want to know from those of you who have already self published just how successful you have been.
How many books have you sold?
Have you made any money at it?
4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHow many people voted for George W. Bush in 2000 thinking that it was his father that was running?
I am frustrated at how stupid so many of my fellow Americans seem to be and I wonder how many might have voted out of name recognition only in 2000. Does anybody know if a statistical study has been done on this?
5 AnswersElections1 decade agoShould I seek a job elsewhere and relocate my family, even though they are all happy where we currently live?
I live in an isolated area in a town of 498 people. My job is seasonal, and I get laid off six months at a time. We struggle to make a living here, but everybody in the family is really happy (beautiful surroundings, quiet, low crime, good schools, good friends). The kids don't want to move (four kids, ranging from 18 to 8). I recently received a college degree, but there are no opportunities nearby. Should I search for a job elsewhere even though my family would be disappointed to move?
10 AnswersParenting1 decade agoWhat aid is available to a disabled woman who wants to purchase a motel and restaurant?
Are there any websites or government agencies to contact for help with financing a business venture for a disabled woman? (Please don't say that she has no business running a motel; she knows what she's getting into).
2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoHow can I raise $30,000 for a great business opportunity?
I have a chance to purchase a motel, restaurant, two bedroom house, and a cottage for a great price, but I need about $30,000 for the down payment and some necessary remodeling to get it ready to open. The problem? I have bad credit (it is a long story and I'll spare you the details). Does anybody have any ideas on how I can raise or borrow the 30 thousand dollars?
7 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoWhat made the kids, teachers, and medical professionals so sick Jan. 31 or Feb. 7, 1997 at Jasper, Arkansas?
Some elementary school children were in P.E. on the schoolground at the Jasper elementary school when something flew over.
The children started suffering severe symptoms all at the same moment which included headaches that made them think their heads were going to burst to breathing difficulties. Later they broke out in an angry red rash and their skin became very dry and scaly. They went inside the gym where their teachers seeing them collapse on the floor - about 46 of them at the same time started to a phone to call the para medics. The teachers then collapsed.
In the meantime someone was able to summon the ambulances and the arriving EMTs started collapsing when they began trying to transport the children to medical clinics and the hospital in Harrison, Arkansas.
When they reached the clinics some of the attending medical personnel started collapsing with the same symptoms.
