Please help me write this Christmas card?

My friend and her husband recently lost their 11 month old son. Im sending out my Christmas cards and Im not sure of the appropriate wording to use. I dont want to just say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". It must be a difficult time for them to celebrate the holidays without their baby. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Update:

Yes, Ive gone to the wake and expressed my condolences and sympathy. This is separate.

I agree with the others...keep it short, acknowledge their loss without bringing it up--by all means, though, send them a card!

I at first thought you should just not send them a card because it's just too difficult to come up with appropriate wording...then I imagined if everyone they knew did this, then they would have no Christmas greetings and their loss would be complicated by feelings of abandonment in a time of need...

How ever you word it, send them a card!

You can say my or our thoughts and prayers are with you. it may be better to send a card that you can write in yourself.rather then a christmas card.also you can let them know you are there for them it's times like this thst people need to know that there is someone there ,i'm sure just knowing you care will be a comfort

I am not sure if a Christmas card is appopriate at all. My bro lost his son on Christmas day.

Maybe some other encouragement card ?

That a really difficult one, hope you can use something from below. God Bless.

With heartfelt love I wish you a Merry Christmas. May you both draw near to each other and remember the love of your son. I pray the New Year will keep your bond strong and bring loving memories of your son.

dont mention the lost in a christmas card. thats inappropiate. if you want to send condolences then send it in another card. if you just want to send a christmas card. say something like "christ is looking over you, merry christmas" or "im thinking of you during the holiday season, if you need anything just give me a call"

Well, holidays are an especially difficult time for people who have recently lost a loved one. I woudl probably write,

"We're thinking of you this Holiday Season" and just leave it at that. Having recently lost my mom, it is always easier to hear something empathetic than people completely ignoring what happened.

Thoughts of you fill my mind and heart, I want you to know i care.

Rather then mourne the absence of the flame, let us celebrate how brightly it glowed.

Tenderly may time heal your sorrow,

Gently may friends ease your pain,

    Softly may peace replace heartache,

    And warm memories remain.

Its never easy for those left behind,

but when you lose someone so senselessly and unexpectedly,

    We all feel the shock!!

May it help to know how many share your sorrow and

Stand with you in your time of need.

May beautiful memories give you strenght at this difficult time.
