Laptop internet?

The internet comes to your home over the phone lines and will be supplied to you by an ISP (Internet Service Provider) for example BT, Nildram, AOL etc.

Your ISP will send you the modem/router. You need to make sure your Laptop can connect to those. So you need a laptop with USB ports and with a Network port (RJ45/CAT5).

No laptops just come with the internet. It depends on what speed you are looking for. For example if you want high speed wireless, but a laptop with an integrated wireless receiver. Most laptops come with a phone jack and a 10Mbs LAN connection standard, but make sure they do if you want to access the internet using a line straight from your modem (cable modem).

To actually get the internet, you have to pay for it normally (legally too). Cable companies offer high speed internet. You have to pay for this service as well as rent or buy a modem in order to receive the signal and port it to your laptop. All laptops come with Web browsers standard. If you want to use the wireless receiver in your laptop you also need to buy a wireless router to connect to your modem. This is all you would need.

what kind of connection do you have ?

if it's wireless you can use your Wlan and participate on network connection room and use the connection that your ISP create for Internet connection .if it's cable connection you must connect with your "Rj11" port and dial up connection, or use "RJ 45" to connect on LAN connection that provide for you!
