What do you think about Wal-Mart ending their lay away?

We went to Wal Mart to get the rest of our lay away out today cause it was the last day. The cashier said they had already lost thousands of dollars just today. I think they will continue to lose money, rather than more credit cards being used. What do you think? Well I guess K Mart is happy about it though.

Update:

I don't own a credit card myself. I filed bankruptcy 3-4 yrs. ago and don't want another one. My husband doesn't want one either. Why do people think that everyone wants a credit card in the first place I wonder. I've even seen lots of people who has money using credit cards for everything. That's just crazy.

Update 2:

check out elayaway.com sometime.

Retailer pay up to 3% on each credit card purchase so I don't understand why Walmart is eliminating layaway ( other than to get rid of the employees who work layaway departments). Many people don't have credit cards or can't afford to pay for their purchases in cash. Layaway was perfect for them. I hope the Walton family feels good about cheating kids out of a happy Christmas this year while they enjoy their 80 something billion dollars in family assets.

i think it's crap. i dont use the layaway there but my mom does and has for a long time. they have lost a lot of money and will probably continue because not everyone has enough credit or has already maxed out the credit cards to use a credit card there. credit cards are over rated. cause not everyone can get one.

certain they're and also you may in elementary words positioned issues on layaway up till November seventeenth(so even as black Friday comes(day after thanksgiving) no human being will be able to apply the layaway for his or her merchandise) They suggested that they are not being worthwhile on layaway and that folk have lengthy gone on to options as an social gathering present playing cards, charge playing cards etc. i does not even problem calling them it gained't help. there is actual not adequate human beings to even problem about this difficulty. save else the position once you should there are more advantageous places to purchase except wal-mart.

Layaway has been of declining importance to retailers for years. Nowadays, people just buy stuff on credit cards, take it home, and then deal with the bank.
