Where is God in the suffering and violence in the world?

I'm just looking for people's opinions not critisizm. Thanks

Update:

Also not saying that God causes violence or suffering, just asking where do you believe that he is?

Update 2:

Again I am not asking what causes suffering I am asking your opinion on where God is or how he handels it. This is more of a Philiosphical question than a religous question!

Well GOD is comforting the hurt and suffering.

GOD is wondering why humans hurt and cause suffering to each other. MAybe wondering if gifting us free will was worth all this time and effort for coheirs to everything.

Jesus is wondering why after all he did for us, that 2000+ years later it's like HE never explained anything, we're so bent on living so worldly only.

GOD set up this world, and all is good, so will not destroy us, or it - until the time HE set is here, so GOD is just amazed at our stubbornness.

I believe most of the suffering and violence in the world is caused by the behavior of people. Hatred and intolerance leads to war, poverty, etc., which causes people to suffer.

I believe God "allows" certain suffering, although I don't understand the complexities of why. (If I did, I'd be God).

God is present, but human dreams are not. Human thought believes in itself as a material reality, but God was there first, so the human reality of hell has no place in creation. It only appears for a time, just as a human does.

That's a very good, fair, and honest question. But I don't think this forum is the proper place to ask it if you really want a good, fair, and honest answer--which you deserve. I think you're best to ring your pastor or priest and set up an appointment. Real people, face to face, is often the best way to grapple with the big questions of life. All the best in your journey.

MAN IS ALWAYS THE CAUSE OF SUFFERING AND VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD = Not GOD!

(James 4:1-to-4) Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?

(Jam 4:2) Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.

(Jam 4:3) Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.

(Jam 4:4) Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.

    Thanks, RR

He's in the people's minds that are causing the suffering

Christianity teaches that god uses catastrophes to "teach us" lessons. So, when children are butchered in Darfur, god is just doing that to teach us a lesson.

They die so that you can learn.

    That's how god works.

God is watching in greif. He can do something about it but its man that causes it.

I believe in karma, someone did something in a past life and sometimes they pay for it in this one.
