Where do I go in my mac to find out how much memory is available?
I have a mac computer and I like it but not everything is easy to find or to work with in a mac I hate that about mac's any way I have been trying to find the hars disk or the memory settings to findout how much memory I have available I have 40 gigs and I want to find out how many are available so that I may download more things.

right click macintosh hd, get info, then it should tell you the capicity and how much space availible. The macintosh hd can be found in the finder in the dock. hope dis works

If you are using OS X, click on the hard drive and press Apple and the letter "i". It will bring up a screen that tells you how much free space is available on the hard drive.
You are confusing two seperate devices in your computer. Hard drive is not the same as computer memory.

u can open the storage things or the hard drive folder and it will say " how ever many space available" at the bottom of the folder thing. but click on the apple at the top then go from there... I forgot I have one but Im not onthat rite now. its simple. jus clickon the Apple then its somethin about the mac.

Also, on the bottom of any Finder window it'll show how many GBs is available on your HDD. The more you use your Mac the easier it will get to understand how to accomplish things with it.
