It is possible I download movies from the net and have it transferred to a CD, without a DVD burner?

there are 2 parts to this answer:

1) it is possible to transfer movies downloaded from net to CD. If it is DVD quality, then you will need software to either split it up, or shrink it down. EIther way you lose quality.

2) not all DVD players are created equal. some dvd players will play anything and everything in almost any format (strangely enough it is usually the cheaper brands). Some dvd players are very restrictive, so make sure you know what you have.

My suggestion for you is to buy a dvd burner. They are cheap and will be much better in the long run if you add up all the time you will spend converting to the right format, and splitting the moving into multiple CD's.

CDs generally don't have enough space to hold a whole movie. DVDs hold more information. I am not sure whether a CD with data will play on a DVD player. I kind of suspect it won't unless it's a Video CD (and sometimes those don't work on some players either).

Good day. Yes movies can transfer onto normal CDs but remember a normal CD can only hold 700MB of space so if the movie file is larger than 700, it is not possible. Ifit does fit, yes it can play via your DVD player but most likely only on computers only if different codecs were used to Rip these movies. Common codecs used is the DivX and the XVID codec so have these installed to play the movies on the computer. Laterz.

Probably not, as burning pgm's write a lead in and a close out on the disk which alows a DVD player to play it. Otherwise you can only watch it on your computer file, by file..Get a burner, they're cheap...

yes you can put it on a cd via cd burner, by writing it data, i think it has to be less than 700mbs to fit. but no it will not play on a dvd player, it will be able to play in your computer only

it depends on the people your downloading with they should have a decoder programs.but you need one of these you need a CD burner for music and a DVD burner for movies.the DVD burner dose both CD @ DVD

Yep. Create an ISO image file out of the movie first. Then when you burn it, choose VCD (video CD, not cideo DVD) and it should work on most DVD players. :)

hey,I have a different answer from everybody's.The answer is YES if you are using Windows XP.Just go to the movie (it should be within 700 mb),right click on it,select "send to" and there you'll see your cd-rw's icon if your cd-drive is a cd-rw writer,select that icon and u can see the file is being written to the empty cd that u have mounted on the drive without a third party software burner.THATS IT
