A recent chest x-ray showed my left lung is about 1/4 cloudy at the bottom. What could this be?
I have never smoked, am in good health, and breath easily even when walking up and down 4 flights of stairs. None of the indications I've read online concerning lung disease seem to apply to me. Part of me says "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.", but the other part says "Early intervention is the key!" Advice, please.

Pneumonia, for one thing. However, lacking any other symptoms, it's likely not. Even though you've never smoked, you live in an industrialized world. There's noplace on earth where you're entirely free of exposure to the toxic byproducts of industry, whether it's polluted water, air or soil. What did your radiologist say about the appearance of "cloudiness" on your chest films? If it were something to be concerned about, he/she or your primary physician would tell you.

A "cloudy" spot could mean many different things such as fluid, mass or infection. Have a body PET scan or a chest CT scan to rule out anything sinister.
