Chinese take out for lunch, healthy options?
Can anyone offer advice on a healthy option for Chinese take-out? I'm looking for lowest fat, calories, and sodium. I'm mulling over the following choices for lunch today:
Ginger Chicken
Chicken w/Broccoli
Chicken or Pork Lo Mein
Szechuan Beef
Thanks!

Chicken w/broccoli would be best. I would opt to not eat fried rice with it though. Instead use the white rice or brown rice if they have it. And of course water is your best option to wash it down. I had chinese yesterday. YUM

Go for Chicken with brocolli (chicken is leaner than pork and the fact that brocolli is a veggie counts as healthy) and instead of getting the rice go for the steamed veggie, drop the lo-mein or rice and no sodas go for water!!!.. Happy Eating

I would select Chicken/ Broccoli.
Reason: Ginger Chicken sounds deep-fry with a sweet glaze, Lo Mein is processed with unknown amount of sodium, szechuan beef has a higher fat content than chicken most of the time.
Enjoy!

At Sainsburys there should be fresh baguettes and bagels and stuff, which you could have? You could bring your own fillings from home, like chicken and salad, and just add them to these. If you do this, the healthy option is to have wholegrain rather than white, as this contains more goodness and fibre. Also, you could bring your own stuff, as if you buy a sandwich they have alot more calories then homemade ones, as they have stuff like mayo and loads of butter and crap! Hope this helps :)

Well... probably chicken w/broccoli but if you want healthy asian food, see if you can find a thai food place that will deliver.
