how long's my cycle?

my last pill free week was 21st to 27th of september, then i took three pills from my new pack before deciding to try for a baby, my first day off the pill was oct 1st. my first period arrived on nov 9th, am i correct in thinking this was day 40 of my cycle? or should i count from sept 21st, which would make it day 50 of my cycle? currently up to day 41 and no period yet. my breasts feel ok but my nipples are very sensitive, have felt a bit yuk some mornings but do get that sometimes - i'm not a morning person! gonna wait till the weekend to take a test but was just hoping someone may be able to help work out when my period is due. also, if i get a negative test and no period, how long should i wait before speaking to my doc about it?

Update:

ok so i mean my first cycle after coming off the pill, was it 39 days or 49 days? trying to work out when my period is due, yesterday or next wednesday

Update 2:

i know all the stuff about best days to concieve, thats not what i'm asking, i want to know when my period is due, i think it was yesterday but it could be next wednesday, from the dates i have given i would like peoples opinions on which cycle length they think i have.

if i have a 39 day cycle then i am late and could be pregnant, if it is a 49 day cycle then i have a few more days to wait.

basically i want to know if i should start counting for my first cycle (the one before the one i'm on now) on the first day of my last pill free week, or the first day i stopped taking the pill.

if i do have a 49 day cycle i also wanted to know if this was 'normal' or if i should go see a doc.

incidently, since my cycle is so long, isn't it unlikely that i ovulate on day 14, that would mean an unfertilised/unimplanted egg hanging around in my uterus for 25 or even 35 days depending on the actual length of my cycle which seems a bit pointless.

The first day of your cyle is the first day of RED bleeding. If you haven't had a period or a + pregnancy test by day 45, I'd go and talk to your doctor. Good luck with the test

OK lets try and give you some answers, first relax and don't stress about the date you started your pill and last took it as your body runs on a clock which consist of 28 days. Hence biological clock. Now when you next have a period start counting, regardless of how many days you bleed the body counts seven days for a period, now after your period keep counting , you see you ovulate on the 14th day from the first start of period. So get a calender and mark off the 14 days it is then that you can get pregnant. Now heres a bit which gives you a window of possible on the 13th and 14th day doctors say have sex plenty as you could get pregnant, this is to do with the sperm travelling in the body. So to CAP it all from the first day of period count the 13th 14th 15th day and have sex. What you feel in the morning could be stress or pregnancy the only way to find out is through a home kit.You may be late due to thinking and stressing as this effects your body. You could help things along by eating plenty of veg and fruit also going to the chemist and buying iron tablets they have some tablets especial for wouldbe mothers. The key to it all is count the next month after you do a test which you don't have to wait as many test now now in in a day OR two of having sex. And eat well and relax have fun with trying. Take care i wish you well.

9th November was day one of the next cycle.

If you have only just stopped taking the pill the chance of actually being pregnant is not good. Also you ought to use condoms for a couple of months to make sure the additional hormones are out of the body before trying for a baby

your cycle is from the first day of your menstral period to the first day of your next. Count the days in between starting with the first to the first of your next. Then do the math of your cycle to determine such things as ovulation.

If you type in Femta, I think you'll get to their site. You can download a free trial to record your cycles and then it works out when you are most likely to conceive.
