Why are people hesitant to wish each other a Merry Christmas in public?
As I go to department stores and even sub shops I notice none of the employees say Merry Christmas anymore. I don't understand this. It should not be offensive to wish someone a Merry Christmas. It means they are wishing you well regardless of your religion. If you are not Christian you should feel grateful that someone else cares enough to share their joy with you. Any comments?
Merry Christmas and God Bless!

Because I'm not Christian. So I only say that to people whom I know ARE Christian. My roomie wished me a Happy Yule, I wished her a Merry Christmas. There's some inter-faith love, man.

I have noticed just the opposite. Employees seem to wish me people a Merry Christmas at every business I visit.

Because people are scared to live free in this politically correct world. Well, social dictatorship.
I am no Christian and wish Christian's would say, Merry Christmas. It doesn't offend me, just bloody well say it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! I won't do yet another long paragraph like on your different question. Its 22:15 right here, and that i'm tremendously knackered. So it quite is over quite for me! We had family members around. vast dinner. + Cheese cake, chocolate mousse and ice cream for dessert. actually feeling like a whale. We talked and shared grants for some hours, in the past watching some movies and comedy episodes on DVD. Then they went residing house and that i had warm beverages and toasties with my mom, dad and bro's. clean lights fixtures and yuletide tree. + A tidy residing house. Love this time of year! i admire Christmas! Apple pies and custard for the next day! wish you had a magnificent day.

As a Christian I only say Happy Christmas to other Christians, and to say it to anyone else would be a waste of time anyway.

I say ''Have a nice holiday'' as I have friends who are Christian, Jews, Muslims, Blacks who also celebrate Kwanzaa. I am not a Christian and I do not like being told ''Merry Christmas''. I feel they are taking it for granted everyone should be a Christian, and are not respecting my religion.

People are selfish and competitive, many wish that they have a better holiday than you do, they will feel they will have 'won' if they have a happier holiday than you do, so they do not want to wish anything good for you.
