I am 15 Weeks & Burnt my Stomach Yesterday, Will it Harm the Baby?
I am 15 weeks pregnant & have quite a tummy going already. On Christmas I was reaching high into a cabinet and I ened up burning my stomach pretty badly on a slow cooker. I've gt 3 welts, one of which is scabbing over that are about 4" long just below my belly button.
Do you think that could harm my baby at all? I'm obviously not used to having this stomach yet!
My next appointment is next Thursday. I guess I'll discuss it with my doctor then aunless I think something is wrong or it isn't healing well.
Thank you all so much for your help and encouragement!

It wont harm the baby, but ouch, deffinatly put Neosporin or Aloe on it so it doesnt scar to badly.
Stuff like that happens to all pregnant women, weather its running your belly into something or rubbing it against something like you did, the baby is fine! My foe was doorways...always banged my belly into them because I couldnt judge how much room I had LOL

Oh no!!! :-(
I think the baby will be fine, because although I know it was painful for you, I'm sure that it was only a few seconds that your skin was in contact with the heat. The baby probably didn't feel a thing.
Be careful in caring for the burn so that it does not get infected, and if you think it is not healing well, be sure to see your doctor.
Congratulations on your little one, I wish you all the best!

The tummy always gets in the way!! I don't think you have anything to worry about. The baby is so well protected in there that you don't have anything to worry about. Be careful of any pain medications you take for the burn, or any topical creams that can get into your blood thru the skin. Use Neosporin to make it feel better, but if you wanted to try something else, I would call my Dr.

This is not likely to affect the baby, but do please take care to treat the burns properly and have them looked at by a doctor if they appear infected or you start to run a fever. Vitamin E oil or cream can be applied to burns to help prevent scarring and give some relief. Antibiotic ointment will help prevent infection.
Good luck with your pregnancy. Have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

No it can't harm your baby. Make sure you treat the burns well, and preferably keep them in a moist dressing as scarring can be worse during pregnancy and your burns will be getting stretched as they heal.
Also, you may want to get a thick, fire retardant apron! Of course I burned the bridge of my nose on a cookie try I had just taken out of the oven (I was bending over to get another one out). So there is NO hope for me!

No, the baby will be fine...the baby didn't feel a thing. Your belly is big for one reason - to provide ample protection for the baby :-) You take the "knocks" so that baby doesn't have to.
The biggest concern at this point would be ensuring that it doesn't get infected. Follow other answers that suggested neosporin, triple antibiotic rubs, etc.

no it won't it is just like a cut. put some aloevera on the burns or other burn medication. just relax and take care. if you are still in doubt can you ob/gyn and she will tell you what you need to do. congrats on the baby!

It was an accident and not your fault! But, please go see your obgyn for the blisters to make sure there is no infection! the baby is very protected in your tummy but make sure he/she is okay! your doctor will fit you in today since you are prego! Good luck!
