Are the recipes to drinks served at hotels or restaurants usually kept secret?

It is perfectly acceptable to ask the bartender. Tell him or her how much you enjoyed the drink and ask if it would be okay to share the recipe with you. Be sure to thank them with a nice tip for their services.

You may get turned down, but there is a fairly good chance that they will share the information. You are more likely to succeed at an independent restaurant than at a chain/corporate place. (for example, this is not worth trying at TGIFriday's - their mixed drink recipes are proprietary)

Most recipes are kept quiet just so you'll go there to enjoy it. But I think that any good bartender or chef would be more than willing to share their recipes with you. Never be afraid to ask for the recipe. The worst that they can say is no, but when i ask either the head chef of the bartender, they always tell me. But don't be pushy.

I would, can't hurt to ask. The worst that could happen is they would tell you no. Tell them you loved the drink and would like to serve it to your guests at a party you are having. Offer the bartender a small tip if he/she seems hesitant.

Brains and liver are both om nom for my section. regrettably, until eventually you'll come across someplace specializing in 'humorous' nutrition, or at a severe end eating position which could serve 'uncomplicated' meals as a novelty, probability is that, no, you would possibly want to not be able to get it served. practice dinner it your self extremely! you'll come across both brains and liver at nicely-taken care of butcher shops.
