Anybody here want to get screwed by an insurance company?
If you do, just get a policy with a Direct General Insurance! I would advise all consumers of the insurance industry to be very weary of this company, I have been advised by numerous persons in the insurance and motor vehicle field that they strive to screw people over. I had a vehicle insured with them when my wife was involved in an accident, all off a sudden my wife becomes listed as an excluded driver, and they refuse to pay on the claim. PLEASE, everybody, be weary when picking an insurance company, I wasn't, and now I have a $9300 paper weight in my driveway.

They should have proof of the exclusion. If they can't provide the signed exclusion endorsement signed by you, then they can't take the coverage away. Have you asked for that? It's very uncommon for an insurance company to disclaim or deny coverage based on an excluded driver and not have the proper documentation to show for it. But I will note your advice about them.

Any time there is an excluded driver on a policy there is a form that needs to be signed either by you or your wife (sometimes both) and it states that you know she is an excluded driver and that if anything happens you realize there is no coverage for damages.
Ask for a copy of the exclusion form showing that you signed it. If they can't give you a copy, you have coverage.

Direct generic is a sub favourite corporation which sells very affordable coverage with the aid of self sufficient brokers, as mbrcatz reported there seems to be extra to this, did you sign a named driving force exclusion to your significant other or did you in basic terms no longer point out her to the agent? Even they does no longer danger a foul faith declare against them, they extra suitable than a favourite corporation can no longer arise with the money for that. in case you experience your spouse became indexed on the coverage and not excluded then you definately ought to document a criticism against them with the entity that regulates coverage on your state, yet once you excluded her or skipped over her you will might desire to make the perfect of that paper weight. with the aid of the way a high quality corporation won't insure you in case you want to exclude your significant other.good success !!!

blb is right. Go the route she recommends and also contact your State's Dept of Insurance/Insurance Commissioner and file a complaint (provided you never agreed to have her as an excluded driver). They will contact the insurance company regarding your complaint and investigate the matter. You can find your insurance commissioner's office here:
