for San Franciscans....?

how do you guys think about the raising minimum wage. i don't like it because other expenses will be increased following that. compare with the old time (i haven't moved to the US yet, but i did hear some history of it). i think that was better and income and expenses are more balanced, wasn't it?

I'll use small numbers for this illustration.

If you raise the minimum wage by 0.10 cents, all the middle men must re-coup those labor costs. So...let's say there's 3 middle men between the manufacturer and the retailer where you purchase. AND...Lets say you make minimum wage at $8.00 an hour.

0.10 cents x 3 middle men comes out to 0.30 cents.

Your pay went up to $8.10 per hour.

    You GAINED 0.10 cents.

You are SPENDING 0.30 cents MORE for the product.

You are now behind 0.20 cents for your purchase than before the raise.

its neccessary because san francisco is really expensive to live in, and nobody making minumum wage can afford to live there, at least not on their own, so its really just a cost of living increase
